I took this picture at midnight in July in 1987 off Captiva Island, Florida on the Gulf of Mexico during a thunderstorm located about a mile offshore. I used a Pentex SLR (I can't remember the model) with (probably) ASA 200 Ektachrom slide film that I developed myself. The lightning was occurring often enough that I was able to just leave the shutter open until I saw a strike. The exposure was about a minute. The colors are untouched.
